Apple Pie is a cousin of Applejack, because she's a down-home country girl who understands Real Equestria, so of course they have to be related. He's also a unicorn, somehow, because of reasons. He lives in Canterlot, where he's a famous triple-threat star of the stage: acting, singing, and dressage!

When not accepting awards (tiaras!) or signing autographs for his many devoted fans, Apple Pie does charity work, such as the HoofStrong campaign to raise awareness of hoof-related violence.

His roommate is a very important newspony who writes for the biggest paper in Canterlot, and whose approval every politician is secretly hoping to court. (Get it? Get it?) Celestia has given him a bunch of interviews, and even had dinner with him once. Apple Pie was invited. It was awesome.

The characters are totally platonic roommates, by the way. Stephen has written dozens of stories in this universe, all totally gen, featuring nothing more than perfectly normal stallion-to-stallion bonding. He doesn't understand why so many readers keep asking when they're going to hook up.

Does anyone have suggestions for pony!Jon's name, by the way? I keep trying, and coming up empty.
