Needs Met, page 04
Title: Needs Met, page 04
Rating: PG (post-coital cuddling)
Characters/Pairings: "Stephen"/Jon, l!"Stephen"/Jon, l!"Stephen"/"Stephen"
Disclaimer: This is a work of parody. Although reference is made to real persons, the dialogue, actions, and content are products of the artist's imagination only.
For some reason LJ insists on displaying the strips at something like 90% size. Not a big deal, but if the text is ever hard to read or anything, try the DA link for the full-size version.
This is supposed to be a couple of weeks later, thus the changes in clothing.

Also here on DA, with links to the rest.

I've been wondering if anyone would comment on the double-safeword thing. I'm pretty sure Stephen has never safeworded in the Needverse (oi,
On one level, it's sweet and heartwarming that Jon is so in tune with c!Stephen's desires. But on another, the fact that c!Stephen is so heavily reliant on Jon to read his mind (and also makes l!Stephen guess what he wants, rather than spelling it out) is A Bad Thing. Especially when this story really drives home how badly Jon can screw it up when unchecked.
(The l!Stephen/Jon relationship has imbalances of its own, which will hopefully become clear in the next couple of strips, for people who haven't figured them out already...)
Yeah, this is going to be a catastrof@#k, all right. These crazy kids need all the luck they can get.

THANKS A LOT.
Ugh, now I'm thinking about this. I don't honestly know if Stephen would ever need to safeword in the Needverse. Jon is nowhere near as kinky as he is, remember, and he's rather uncomfortable with more of the hardcore stuff, so...IDK. Like, Stephen would probably enjoy being caned, but Jon would see the welts (and how Stephen winced when he sat) afterward and kind of have a minor l!Stephen-like crisis.
Assuming Stephen somehow talked Jon into something risker...I dunno if he'd safeword out even if he wanted to. (Which is part of Jon's fears, and probably adds to the uncertainty he has with doing more hardcore things.) I think something would have to go horribly wrong by his not safewording before he realized that he needed to do it when something surpassed his limits. But I have no idea what that could realistically be, because, again, Jon is much less kinky than Stephen is. He would not be the one to suggest, say, breathplay, and if Stephen did, he'd be like, "...no."

Yeah, Jon's vanilla-ness makes it awfully hard to come up with a scenario where he would push things farther than Stephen. Although it might work if Stephen got sick or hurt in some way, so that their normal play was more painful/exhausting than usual, but he tried to pretend he was up to it.
Or how about, instead of a violent type of play, an endurance-based one? Like, Stephen being tied up in the next room and left to wait, and he's so determined to do it well that he doesn't safeword even when he starts losing circulation. And eventually Jon pokes in to check on him and goes "aknfdgpasdk your hands are white these ropes are coming off NOW."

Maybe Jon could cease all play until Stephen demonstrated that he understood why his safeword was important. Hmmmm.
...I hate you. =P

"Jo-ooon, this isn't even fun!"
"Well, it's punishment, Stephen, you're not supposed to be having fun."
"Could we please just do that thing we did the other time with the--"
"No, Stephen, this is important."
"This is so stupid, I know when I need to--"
"Don't make me double your word count!"

I should write the AU in my head, where they actually have a happy marriage, because she's his dom and is fully aware that he's gayer than Christmas, and gives him permission to sleep with men. (As long as she approves, of course.)

I only ask because I was about to type "Aw, his kids wouldn't even be emotionally scarred!" and then I wondered if/how they would factor into the equation.

I haven't figured out how their children factor in, if they even have any yet. It's still sitting half-formed in my mind.

IDK, at any rate, I have a thing for people of incompatible sexual orientations living together in happy sham marriages so I expect that this fic will make me :DDDDD when you get around to it.
