I've actually seen some really interesting fandom-minded debates about that sort of thing. Like this one great discussion that started with "If you have sex with an AU version of your partner, does it count as cheating?"

...but yes, this is Very Bad, and things pretty much go crashing downhill from here.

Man, that kind of thing would be almost a perfect comparison, too. Same appearance, different experiences= different person. Huh. I wonder if "bizarre alternate universe consent issues" will ever become a common warning on fanfic websites...nah, dub con covers that.

...have I mentioned how much I freaking love fandom sometime? We're talking about the social and legal ramifications of travel between parallel universes. XD
