As much as I feel for those poor, poor Stephens, drawn to eachother and realizing how "screwed up" they are, after being immensely hurt, by being immensely hurt, I can't help but feel sorry for the Jons, too, going along with a universe in which at least c!Stephen has shot poor little Tad (meaning there's some weird universe factor going on there, not "It doesn't matter what Jon does because Stephen has done ____."

Gah, poor Stephens! And pitiful Jons that will have to just wait until their Stephen is ready to admit the love they just told the other Jon they had for their Stephen, explain themselves, and still be very sorry. :P

Haven't been around for the last new panels with work, but work on the Stephens has been really great, and I'm enjoying how the Jons didn't even do so much as hug in this segment, which seems pretty ic to me. XD

But that last panel is a great question; does l!Stephen's Jon really let his Stephen dress him? >>

Yeah, there's a sense of unreality to the whole universe - audience members get shot on a regular basis, giant coffee cups attack people, and Stephen has slaves under his desk and a couple of unicorns on hand. It's like a cartoon - the way we always feel sorry for Wile E. Coyote, even though he is, technically speaking, trying to blow someone up.

But there's enough love and caring running through the whole quartet to keep them together, and have them make it through all right eventually.

The dressing is in a sort of Jeeves and Wooster sense. Stephen picks the clothes, then once Jon has them on he does up the buttons, smooths out the creases, and generally indulges his desire to primp and fuss and adjust a hundred little details until they're exactly as he wants them. (It's the same kind of fine control c!Stephen exercises over his own appearance, though in his case he secretly wishes he could surrender it.)

He couldn't, though, 'cause Jon is not good with clothes. He's got pretty bland taste. But I think Stephen's okay with it.
