Now I'm wondering in what sense it was "horribly partisan." Was it a case of "augh, you got it exactly right, liberals are such horrible people", or more like "okay, maybe I can see this, but it's really conservatives who suck"?

I know there were a couple of places where I cut things short because they were going in a weird political direction. Didn't try to unpack the socialism or the Eugene Debs quotation too far, for example, because while l!Stephen takes it to extremes, a sense of duty towards the poor and the sick is still a good thing, and people in general should have more of it.

But I do think there is plenty to mock about us liberals. If only there were more clever, funny conservative comedians. (If loud shouty angry punditry is dominated by the right, then comedy - the good kind as well as the nasty kind - is totally the province of the left.)
